Pinpointing The Source Of Your Toilet Leak
We get many calls each week from people complaining about having a leaking toilet but they’re not quite sure what part of the toilet the leak is coming from, or what’s causing the leak.
We found this video, courtesy of DIY On The House, that explains all of the possible places a toilet can leak. Enjoy…
According to the video, the 8 places that can cause a toilet leak are:
- the flapper valve
- the fill valve
- the tank to bowl seal or gasket
- the flush valve
- the trip lever
- the wax seal bond between the toilet and the floor
- the water connection
- a crack in the porcelain
Now that you know what to look for when you see water coming out from your toilet, give us a call and we’ll come out to fix it, fast.
A toilet leak is not something you want to delay in getting fixed as this can lead to extensive water damage if the water leaking from your toilet finds its way into the flooring and down to a room below.
With that in mind… please see our recent post on how to turn off the water to your toilet, so you can limit the possible water damage.
